Cymbals Technician: Lauren Lorenzo
Lauren started her marching career at Freehold High School (2012-2016) starting her first year in the front ensemble, then moving to bass drum for her other three years. During her sophomore year in 2014, she was introduced to the Bushwackers where a cymbal spot was available. It was then that she found her true passion for the marching arts and cymbals and looked forward to all the potential growth.
Lauren continued to march for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, and started the 2016 season as well. About halfway through, she found out she was moving to California before finals. Since she didn’t want to drop everything completely, she stepped out of the line and spent her weekends assisting teaching until her moving date. For the 2017 season, she flew out to New Jersey at the start of the summer to fulfill yet another season being a part of such a legendary plate line. Now she is very excited to be able to instruct the line that has given her a home for the past four years.
Lauren still currently resides in northern California where she eagerly studies music education at Las Positas Community College. She also is in her first year of being the bass drum technician for Beyer High School for the fall season, and will continue with teaching bass drum and cymbals for the winter season. She can’t wait to further her teaching career and experience with the 2018 Bushwackers!
