James and Amy Borowicz are long-time supporters of the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps. This past summer James, Amy and their daughter Cassidy followed the corps to many shows including flying to championship weekend in Rochester, New York. They were very impressed by the hard work and dedication of the members and were thrilled to be part of the celebration of the success as the Bushwackers returned to be a 2016 finalist in DCA.
The James and Amy Borowicz Scholarship is designed to help perpetuate the membership of the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps by awarding a full year scholarship to up to four returning members. The four scholarships will be awarded as follows:
- one brass member
- one battery member
- one front ensemble member
- one color guard member
The Borowiczes recognize the corps took a huge step forward last year and hope that gifts of full scholarships will not only encourage all of the members to return, but also encourage other alumni to contribute to keep the corps moving forward.
The recipients of the James and Amy Borowicz scholarship will be selected based upon status as a returning member of the Bushwackers, financial need, and demonstration of outstanding commitment, leadership skills, and work ethic. The selection committee will be constituted of representation from the Bushwackers Drum Corps board of directors, the corps administration, the Bushwackers alumni, and the staff.
Note: The selection committee reserves the right to award any number of scholarships up to four in the event that not all application requirements are fulfilled.
