To end the winter color guard spin clinic season, the Bushwackers will be hosting our first color guard spin camp on the weekend of May 13 and 14, 2017 at Bush Fields in Pennington, New Jersey. After two successful spin clinics this winter and spring, we are introducing this new event to cap off the season. Registration is open to everyone, regardless of whether you participated in a spin clinic, regardless of experience level with flag, rifle, sabre, and dance.
Over the weekend, we will also have our final round of auditions for the 2017 edition of the Bushwackers Drum Corps color guard, our competitive program that occurs on weekends in the spring and summer through Labor Day weekend.
We will continue our popular spin clinic format, where Saturday will begin with introductions to all who attend the event. Throughout the weekend, campers will increase their skills with dance and movement as well as flag work. Optionally, campers will have the opportunity to receive instruction on rifle or sabre. Over the course of the weekend, campers will learn a routine that will be presented at the end of the weekend. The instructional staff is led by Bushwackers color guard caption head, Lauryn Heller.
Campers have the choice of attending one or both days, and we will provide housing for any campers attending both days as well as meals. (For those staying overnight, bring sleeping items, shower items, a change of clothes, etc.)
Check-in will begin at 8:15 am on Saturday, May 13.
Over the course of the weekend, any camper who wishes to participate in the Bushwackers Drum Corps summer competitive program will receive their final evaluation. We are planning a fun and competitive season with the Bushwackers Drum Corps, and if you want to be a part of a great summer, you must attend this final audition!
