Bushwackers December camp another success!

The Bushwackers once again called Garfield, New Jersey "home away from home" as they held the last rehearsal camp of 2005 at the historic Garfield American Legion Post.

Though 6 inches of snow blanketed the ground, the sounds of summer warmed up the hall as the brassline plowed through its 2006 opener "Fanfare for the new".

This chart made famous by the likes of the legendary Argonne Rebels and the Shaumburg Guardsmen, is a departure from the symphonic style of the latest Bushwacker editions.

Brass caption head Joe Exley was pleased at how quickly the brassline took hold of this very difficult chart and by the end of Sunday's rehearsal, were handling the chart with a high level of confidence.

The drumline continues to add more new faces to an already large contingent. Caption head Sean Lawler and his staff spent the weekend locking in the warm-up program and stylistic approach before Dan Delong delivers the chart for "Fanfare" at the January camp.

Everyone is anxiously waiting to hear the brassline and percussion charts together, Bringing "Fanfare for the New" truly to life.

The next camp for the Bushwackers will be back at the Rutgers law School in Newark, New Jersey January 14 and 15.
